Building Families, Communities and Businesses
Eastern Oregon Women's Coalition’s work began in 2006, and in April of 2015, we became a nonprofit corporation designated as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
Our mission is to educate Oregonians about Eastern Oregon, specifically its businesses and rural way of life. We envision a prosperous Oregon where rural and urban areas are united by sustainably produced goods and services, healthy and natural systems, and strong communities. We strive to build trust and understanding between Oregonians so that Eastern Oregon and its residents are recognized for their contributions to the state as a whole.
One method of education is providing tours of farms, ranches, and economic development projects in Eastern Oregon. These tours are led by expert farmers, ranchers, engineers, and leaders in our area who provide both practical and expert information. Another method is hosting nonpartisan gatherings of state leaders, policymakers, and community members to facilitate communication and the creation of community-based solutions. Another method is facilitating the dissemination of economic development information and strategies within the region, such as water delivery and conservation methods. At all of these events, participants exchange ideas on successful strategies, lessons learned, and emerging tools for community and economic development. We are always interested in new methods. If you have ideas or are interested in participating, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We endeavor to bridge the great urban-rural divide in Oregon. Education is a major part of that, and we believe we can make in-roads through education and meaningful dialogue.
